{"id":1409,"date":"2021-02-26T04:25:22","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T04:25:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theguitar.rocks\/?p=1409"},"modified":"2021-02-26T04:25:22","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T04:25:22","slug":"wolf-alice-announce-new-album-blue-weekend-music-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theguitar.rocks\/?p=1409","title":{"rendered":"Wolf Alice announce new album Blue Weekend &#8211; Music News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.music-news.com\/images\/news\/wolfalice.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Wolf Alice have unveiled their new album, &#8216;Blue Weekend&#8217;.<br \/>After teasing fans about a project titled \u2018The Last Man On Earth\u2018 , the Mercury Prize-winners have released a track with that name, which is the lead single taken from their upcoming third studio album. <br \/>Bandleader Ellie Rowsell has explained the single is about &#8220;the arrogance of humans&#8221; and is inspired by legendary late author Kurt Vonnegut\u2019s postmodern satire &#8216;Cat\u2019s &#8216;Cradle&#8217;.<br \/>She said: \u201cIt\u2019s about the arrogance of humans. <br \/>\u201cI\u2019d just read Kurt Vonnegut\u2019s &#8216;Cat\u2019s &#8216;Cradle&#8217; and I had written the line \u2018Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from god\u2019 in my notes. But then I thought: \u2018Uh, your peculiar travel suggestion isn\u2019t a dancing lesson from god, it\u2019s just a travel suggestion! Why does everything need to mean something more?\u2019\u201d<br \/>The follow-up to 2017&#8217;s Mercury Prize-winning &#8216;Visions of a Life&#8217; was recorded at a converted church with studio wizard Markus Drav, and Ellie hopes the songs can help anyone feeling &#8220;blue&#8221; to feel &#8220;better&#8221;.<br \/>She said: &#8220;This album is for other people.<br \/>\u201cSometimes you hear a song and it makes you feel better, or you hear a song and it makes you feel seen. I remember feeling blue about something, and thinking, \u2018I wonder what songs I can listen to that will be about what I\u2019m feeling right now\u2019.<br \/>\u201cIt was almost as if I was desperate to feel better about something, and I would go down any path to feel not alone in something, or to understand it more.
