{"id":522,"date":"2021-01-31T14:42:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-31T14:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theguitar.rocks\/?p=522"},"modified":"2021-01-31T14:42:02","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T14:42:02","slug":"the-4th-annual-alter-ego-has-a-big-virtual-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theguitar.rocks\/?p=522","title":{"rendered":"The 4th Annual ALTer EGO Has A Big Virtual Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n            &#13;<\/p>\n<div class=\"photo-border light-gray\">\n<p>                <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.allaccess.com\/assets\/img\/editorial\/raw\/al\/alterego2021.jpg\" title=\"\">&#13;<br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a1.allaccess.com\/assets\/img\/editorial\/200xH\/al\/alterego2021.jpg\" alt=\"alterego2021.jpg\" width=\"\" height=\"187\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"width:200px\">Virtual<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n            &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The fourth annual iHEARTRADIO ALTer EGO celebrated Alternative music\u2019s biggest artists on JANUARY 28th with a virtual event, hosted by WOODY of the nationally-syndicated THE WOODY SHOW, the event featured performances and stories from BILLIE EILISH and FOO FIGHTERS plus previous\u00a0 ALTer EGO performances from BECK, THE BLACK KEYS, BLINK-182, CAGE THE ELEPHANT, COLDPLAY, THE KILLERS, MUMFORD &amp; SONS, MUSE, TWENTY ONE PILOTS and WEEZER.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event was streamed for free on LIVEXLIVE.COM and broadcasted across more than 80 Alternative and Rock iHEARTRADIO stations.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlights included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FOO FIGHTERS kicked off the 2021 iHEARTRADIO ALTer EGO with an all-new performance of \u201cEverlong.\u201d Following an introduction from host WOODY, the band continued their set with \u201cShame Shame,\u201d \u201cWaiting On A War\u201d and \u201cThe Pretender,\u201d which concluded with a long jam session.<\/li>\n<li>Fans were reminded of TWENTY ONE PILOTS\u2019 2019 performance. The OHIO-based duo opened the sold-out show with \u201cRide.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>CAGE THE ELEPHANT took fans back to 2018 with a performance of &#8220;Ain\u2019t No Rest For The Wicked.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>THE BLACK KEYS\u2019 DAN AUERBACH and PATRICK CARNEY gave fans a taste of their 2020 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO performance of \u201cHowlin\u2019 For You.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>WEEZER participated in the ALTer EGO CAPITAL ONE Trivia Challenge, where 25 cardholders had the opportunity to meet the band and battle each other in a trivia challenge.<\/li>\n<li>BLINK-182 rocked the stage in JANUARY 2020. Fans were able to relive the SOCAL-based trio\u2019s performance of \u201cWhat\u2019s My Age Again?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>MUSE gave a performance of their anthem, \u201cUprising,\u201d with fans singing along throughout the entire song.<\/li>\n<li>MUMFORD &amp; SONS\u2019 performed \u201cLittle Lion Man\u201d in 2018 and again during this year\u2019s virtual show.<\/li>\n<li>THE KILLERS took fans back to 2019 with a performance of the song that put them on the map, \u201cMr. Brightside.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Last year, COLDPLAY gave one of their only live performances of 2020 at ALTer EGO. With a full orchestra, the band gave an performance of one of their biggest hits, \u201cViva La Vida.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>BECK rocked out during \u201cLoser,\u201d delivering an unforgettable performance.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>BILLIE EILISH closed out the 2021 virtual event with a performance of her biggest hits.
