The 75-year-old music legend recorded the tracks at Honolulu’s Commercial Recorders studio in Hawaii, during the same sessions for his 1982 LP ‘Trans’ .<\/p>\n

The collection was previously called \u2018Island In The Sun\u2019 and some of the songs made at the time, such as \u2018Like An Inca\u2019, \u2018Hold On To Your Love\u2019, and \u2018Little Thing Called Love\u2019, ended up on ‘Trans’.<\/p>\n

The record will now be released in all its glory via the Neil Young Archives \u201csoon\u201d.<\/p>\n

Neil announced on his website for the project: “‘Johnny\u2019s Island\u2019 a complete album now being prepared for release at NYA, includes a majority of unreleased tracks including \u2018Big Pearl,\u2019 \u2018Island In The Sun,\u2019 and \u2018Love Hotel,\u2019 plus others you may have heard before. It\u2019s a beautiful record coming to you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

In December, Neil made his music archive free to listen to on his website for the rest of 2020.<\/p>\n

The folk icon gave his fans the gift of his entire career’s work online for Christmas to provide some comfort listening amid the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

He said at the time: \u201cWe are doing well here and feeling good. We hope you are well, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are locked down, we are here for you with hours of listening and cruising around through the years in movies. We want you to enjoy what we have to share at NYA \u2026 It\u2019s my music and our lives. Peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the releases was the \u2018Archives Volume II: 1972\u20131976\u2019 boxset and his ‘Fireside Sessions’, which included a cover of Bob Dylan\u2018s \u2018The Times They Are A-Changin\u2019’.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Neil recently sold 50 per cent of his music catalogue said to be worth an estimated $150 million (\u00a3110 million) to the Hipgnosis Songs Fund.<\/p>\n

Half of Neil’s music collection amounts to 1,180 songs<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
