I definitely have that desire to kind of filter some detail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check out our Music News exclusive interview below:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Arlo Parks I Interview I Music-News.com\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/T-YfYGoYI40?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Black Dog\u2019 singer started writing music as a private unweaning of all the &#8220;difficult, complicated knots in my head\u201d but she won\u2019t share songs that feel too personal.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI definitely have spoken to people who feel the need to mine those difficult parts of themselves to create something that&#8217;s worth thinking about, but I don&#8217;t think that is something that anybody needs to do, or should feel obliged to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the reason why I do it is because that&#8217;s what inspires me most. I&#8217;m most inspired by memory, and by the things that I&#8217;ve lived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf something hurts, I don\u2019t [share it].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m blessed that people do find my work kind of useful in a way, but I think that it&#8217;s important not to destroy yourself for the sake of being useful.\u201d   <\/p>\n<p>However, Arlo admitted people have an \u201cexpectation\u201d for her to seem vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI definitely think that there is an expectation, but because that\u2019s the way that I project myself as well. And that\u2019s what I think people think I am all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the early days of her career, Arlo would respond to fans seeking advice about their worries and secrets but admitted the letters took their toll on her own mood.<\/p>\n<p>She added to Britain&#8217;s The Telegraph newspaper: \u201cI found it quite draining, and I found myself quite low.
