Anne-Marie was once ghosted by a boy – Music News

The 29-year-old singer was ready to go on a date with a boy when he cut off all communication with her without any warning, leaving her to wonder what had happened.

Speaking on ‘Smallzy’s Celebrity Small Talk’ podcast, she recalled: “When I was younger, I did get ghosted by this particular boy that was just the worse. He’d be like, ‘Alright, I’ll come pick you up’ and I’d be ready, all dressed up, ready to go out. He just wouldn’t show up and wouldn’t answer his phone, and that is the worse because, at that point, I’ve told everyone.

“I hated it because you end up telling everyone in your house or your mum and dad like, ‘Oh, I’m going out. He’s picking me up.’ So everyone knows and then you’re supposed to make up an excuse because you don’t want them to hate him. It’s all horrible.”

The pop star recently released the single ‘Don’t Play’ with KSI, which was inspired by the 27-year-old rapper’s own experience of being ghosted by a girl.

Annie-Marie explained: “This is about KSI’s situation because he was with a girl quite a while ago and he was totally in love with her, and then she just ghosted.”

However, the ‘2002’ songstress hopes the track will have people up and dancing.

She added: “I just love this song. I heard it and it made me feel like I wanted to dance and, at the moment, I feel like that’s what people have needed.”

Anne-Marie also loved the experience of working with the rapper.

She said: “I am very open and honest and I try to be as down to earth as I can be all the time but meeting JJ opened my eyes even more. “

Nick Jonas assures sibling Kevin the Jonas Brothers are ‘still a band’ – Music News

The 28-year-old singer acted as both host and musical guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’ with his elder brother Kevin present in the audience.

As Nick performed his monologue in Saturday’s (27.02.21) episode, Kevin asked whether the Jonas Brothers – which also consists of their sibling Joe – still exists due to the ‘Spaceman’ singer’s various solo projects.

He said: “I’ve got to ask, are we good? Because I see you’re doing a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band?”
Nick replied: “Of course.”

His brother followed up with: “Are you sure? Because I just bought a house.”

Nick answered: “The band is still together. I promise.”

The band recently denied they are splitting up again and teased new music is in the pipeline.

The ‘Sucker’ hitmakers have quashed a report that suggested their reunion was “effectively over”, and told fans on Twitter that they have some “exciting stuff” coming up “together and apart”.

Marking the second anniversary to the day the trio announced their comeback (24.02.21), they wrote: “That day and every day that followed has meant everything to us. Playing music together, getting back on the road, seeing all of your faces in the crowd, hearing your stories… Our 2019 (and even some of 2020!) was so special and it’s all because of how amazing you guys are … We have the best fans in the world and we love you so much! We all have a ton of exciting stuff coming and we can’t wait for you guys to hear all about it.”

Demi Lovato slams ‘transphobic’ gender reveal parties – Music News

Demi Lovato has hit out at gender reveal parties for being “transphobic”.

In an Instagram post, the 28-year-old Sorry Not Sorry singer shared her thoughts on the concept, which is hugely popular among expectant parents, as she re-posted a comment made by transgender rights activist Alok Vaid-Menon.

The post says that it’s, “both insincere and incorrect to pretend that gender reveal parties are not transphobic.”

“This is not about political correctness, it’s just … correct,” continues the message. “We condemn gender reveals not because of our identity, but because of reality. Gender reveals are based on the illusion that genitals = gender and that there are only two options ‘boy or girl’.”

It adds: “This definition erases the fact that there are boys with vaginas and girls with penises and that there are people who are neither boys nor girls. The idea that sex is based on genitalia is inconsistent with science.”

In her own comment beneath the post, the Skyscraper star penned: “@alokvmenon with the real (prayer and heart emojis) Thank you for sharing your knowledge and educating us always. (sic)”

Taylor Swift scraps Lover Fest shows – Music News

Taylor Swift has officially cancelled her Lover Fest shows.

The pop star announced the 2020 summer festival-style gigs shortly after the release of her Lover album in 2019 and stalled them when the Covid-19 pandemic shut down venues last year.

She was hoping to reschedule the concerts, but on Friday the singer decided she could no longer commit to the shows.

“I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you,” she wrote on her social media accounts. “It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about.

“I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.

“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again.”

Fans might not be able to see Swift live any time soon, but she has kept them busy with new and reworked music – she released two albums, Folklore and Evermore, in 2020 and is currently reworking the tracks on her 2008 record, Fearless, which will be re-released in April.

Katy Perry, Post Malone and J Balvin on new album to mark 25th anniversary of Pokemon – Music News

The artists are creating original songs for a 14-track record titled ‘Pokemon 25: The Album’. It will include music from 11 different Universal Music Group (UMG) artists and will be released later this year.

The news was revealed at the end of the Pokemon Day 25th anniversary virtual concert on Saturday (27.02.21), which was headline by Post Malone.

The ‘Circles’ hitmaker has released a cover of Hootie and the Blowfish’s ‘Only Wanna Be With You’, which will be part of the album and admitted the song was “super fun” to perform.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: “I’ve always been a fan of the band and Darius (Rucker, lead singer). This song is one of my favourites, and it was super fun to cover.

“The song was released 25 years ago, which also happens to be when Pokemon got its start.

Balvin revealed that his tune isn’t quite finished yet but he has delved into old TV shows and video games from the franchise to create a hit single to appeal to fans of himself and Pokemon.

The 35-year-old reggaeton star said: “We’re gonna come up with a crazy song. It’s going to catch everybody’s ear.
“It’s easy to make a Pokemon song if you just want that fan base, but we’re not close-minded. We want everybody to vibe with Pokemon.”

It was revealed last month that Katy would be teaming up with Pokemon for the P25 Music venture and said that becoming a mother had made her even more “keen” on the collaboration.

The 36-year-old singer – who gave birth to daughter Daisy in August 2020 – said: I love being a part of anything that is playful and is good storytelling and has really good messages to share with the world. Now having a child myself, I understand that it’s so important to play. This is a continued extension of who I am.”

London Grammar star battled fibromyalgia relapse while recording new album – Music News

London Grammar star Hannah Reid has opened up about her struggle with fibromyalgia, revealing she suffered a health crisis while recording the band’s latest album.

The singer told NME.com she had no energy when the group started work on California Soil and could only record for “a few hours” a day.

“In between the first and second albums, I really worked on my health and got my health back, but then it relapsed,” Reid said, recalling: “When we started making the third album, I was also trying to really get to the bottom of where it was coming from.”

She continued: “at the start, I had no energy. I could only work for a few hours, sat down with a hand held microphone in the studio. But slowly I regained strength.”

Reid added that she attributed her improvement to “support I had from the boys” noting that her bandmate’s understanding boosted her recovery.

The condition, which causes chronic pain all over the body, kicked in during the tour for the band’s 2013 debut album If You Wait, and Reid admitted she would return home “completely depleted”.

“It’s kind of difficult to talk about to be honest,” she confessed, sharing: “It makes me feel incredibly guilty… especially in a time right now when people are really suffering, to ever talk about it (touring) being difficult.”

Reid is not the only star struggling with fibromyalgia – Lady Gaga also fights the condition.

Bruce Springsteen’s DWI charges dropped – Music News

Bruce Springsteen has agreed to pay a $500 (£360) fine in exchange for prosecutors dropping charges of reckless and drink-driving.

The rock legend was hit with the driving while intoxicated count back in November, minutes after stopping his motorcycle to take photos with a group of fans in Sandy Hook, in his native New Jersey.

A park ranger nearby spotted Springsteen, who is not a big drinker, take two shots of tequila offered by one devotee, before riding off, prompting his subsequent arrest.

However, during a virtual appearance in Newark Federal Court on Wednesday, prosecutors revealed they were dismissing the driving under the influence and reckless driving counts, admitting they were unable to sustain the “burden of proof” because Springsteen was well below the legal blood alcohol limit at the time of his bust.

Springsteen, who had no criminal history before the incident, instead pleaded guilty to consuming alcohol in a closed area, for which he received a fine.

After the ruling, his lawyer, Mitchell Ansell, told Rolling Stone: “Mr. Springsteen is pleased with the outcome of today’s court appearance.

“We want to thank the Court and will have no further comment at this time.”

News of the incident only emerged in early February, days after he appeared in a commercial for Jeep, called The Middle, which aired during the Super Bowl.

Jeep bosses decided to pull the ad in the wake of the controversy.
