Family of Lady Gaga’s dogwalker thanks pop star for support – Music News

The family of Lady Gaga’s dog walker has thanked the pop superstar for her concern after he was shot four times during a dog-napping drama in Los Angeles.

Ryan Fischer is expected to make a full recovery after he tried to fight off thugs who stole two of Gaga’s precious French bulldogs on Wednesday night, and now his family members are speaking out to give friends and fans an update.

“We cannot possibly say enough to thank all of the first responders, nurses and doctors who have worked so tirelessly to care for Ryan,” the statement reads. “Of course, we also want to thank Lady Gaga who has shown nothing but non-stop love and concern for Ryan and our family right from the outset.

“Ryan loves (dogs) Gustavo and Koji as much as Lady Gaga does, so we join in her plea for their safe return.”

The Poker Face singer has offered a $500,000 (£358,000) reward for the safe return of her pets.

A third dog, Miss Asia, ran off during the attack and was later picked up by police officers, who are still investigating the incident.

Los Angeles Police Department officials have now released a description of the two men, who shot Fischer and stole two of Gaga’s dogs.

The suspects are allegedly described as black males, between the ages of 20 and 25, who were seen in a white Nissan Altima. The shooter has blond dreadlocks and was wearing a black hoodie.

Dan Reynolds donates childhood home to LGBTQ youth initiative – Music News

Imagine Dragons star Dan Reynolds has donated his childhood home in Las Vegas to an organisation funding eight LGBTQ youth centres across America.

Apple executives, the Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, and Reynolds’ wife Aja Volkman are also listed as investors in the project, aimed at making life easier for LGBTQ teens.

Through the ‘$8 Million, 8 Houses’ Encircle campaign, the group hopes to build the homes in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.

“Encircle is about bringing young LGBTQ+ people and their families together, by including the community and strengthening the bonds that connect us,” Reynolds and Volkman said in a statement to Billboard. “Being a part of this organization means so much to both of us and we know the house Dan grew up in will be a loving and supportive home to every young LGBTQ+ person who crosses the threshold.”

Encircle was founded in 2017 with the goal of creating spaces for troubled LGBTQ kids. Encircle currently has three operating homes in Utah, and a fourth is being built.

Reynolds has a long history with LGBTQ kids in Utah and founded the LOVELOUD festival to help fund various charity organisations.

Justin Bieber to drop Justice album next month – Music News

Justin Bieber is hoping to be back at the top of the album charts next month after announcing the release of his sixth record, Justice.

The pop star took to social media on Friday to reveal the new collection will drop on 19 March.

It will feature his hit Holy collaboration with Chance the Rapper, as well as Lonely and Anyone.

“In a time when there’s so much wrong with this broken planet, we all crave healing – and justice – for humanity,” said Bieber in a statement. “In creating this album, my goal is to make music that will provide comfort; to make songs that people can relate to, and connect to, so they feel less alone.

“Suffering, injustice and pain can leave people feeling helpless. Music is a great way of reminding each other that we aren’t alone. Music can be a way to relate to one another and connect with one another.

“I know that I cannot simply solve injustice by making music, but I do know that if we all do our part by using our gifts to serve this planet, and each other, that we are that much closer to being united. This is me doing a small part… I want to continue the conversation of what justice looks like so we can continue to heal.”

Travis Scott launches emergency relief effort for struggling Houston locals – Music News

Texas native Travis Scott has launched an emergency initiative to feed Houston families coping with the aftermath of deadly winter storms.

The rapper and his Cactus Jack Foundation partners have teamed up with City of Houston officials and the Houston Health Foundation to provide 50,000 hot meals to locals impacted by last week’s big freeze.

They will work with local business owners to identify the most vulnerable groups of people in need of assistance.

Winter Storm Uri caused heavy snowfall and below zero temperatures across Texas earlier this month, leaving millions of residents without water, heat or electricity.

Scott and and his Cactus Jack Foundation, along with the City of Houston, will now coordinate with restaurant owners and organisations, including The Black Service Chamber and The National Association of Christian Churches.

It’s not the first time Travis has joined forces with City of Houston officials for a charity initiative – they launched their first-ever Holiday Toy Drive event last Christmas, during which city folk were gifted toys, food items, Christmas trees, blankets, and clothing.

Travis founded the Cactus Jack Foundation in November.

The Who doubt they will make another album it costs ‘too much money’ – Music News

The Who may not make another album because they won’t make any money from it.

The ‘My Generation’ hitmakers – which now comprises of just Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend – are proud of how well-received 2019’s ‘Who’ was but they made a loss on the record and there was tension between the two of them, so they are reluctant to do it again.

Roger told Uncut magazine: “Will there be another Who album? I don’t know.

“There’s no record market any more. Everybody talks about streaming, but have you seen what artists get from that? It’s a joke.

“It was great to have an album out there, something that the fans liked, and I was really proud of it.

“But far too much money was spent making it. It went out of control completely and ended up costing me money. I can’t go on doing that.”

And Pete admitted the difficulties they had making ‘Who’ has put him off wanting to make another record “a little bit”.
He said: “It was tough. I think it was tough for Roger too. I think he and I have found a sort of common ground over it, but there is still a sense that we only just about got it done.

“There’s a certain amount of resentment on both sides. Partly on Roger’s side, perhaps, resentment that we were paid a lot of money for the album and it was all spent making it.

“On my side, the fact that Roger was so actively diffident at first.

“Now he’s proud of what he did on the record and so he should be because he did such a great job.

“But our process is now just me and him and we’re very different – politically, socially, spiritually, different in every respect. But we happen to be in this band together.”

Despie this, the 75-year-old guitarist admitted he’d still like to make another album.

He added: “I do want to make another one and I probably will. It’s been on my mind a lot.”

Taylor Swift cancells her Lover Fest shows due to the ‘unprecedented pandemic’ – Music News

The 31-year-old star had planned a number of shows for last summer in support of her 2019 album ‘Lover’ but was forced to postpone them due to the COVID-19 crisis and now Taylor has revealed that she has axed all the shows completely.

She told her fans in a post on Instagram: “I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you. It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about.

“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again (sic).”
The shows were set to include Taylor’s Lover Fests in Los Angeles and Foxborough, MA, along with international festival dates in England, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Poland, France, Portugal and Brazil.
All of the shows were postponed last April as the pandemic raged around the world but they have now been cancelled.
Since releasing ‘Lover’ in 2019, Taylor has dropped two new albums, ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, which she secretly recorded during lockdown.

Billie Eilish’s documentary confirms her relationship with Brandon Quention Adams – Music News

Billie Eilish confirms her former relationship with Brandon Quention Adams in her new documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.

The Apple TV+ film premiered on Thursday, with viewers first treated to a snapshot of Billie and Brandon’s romance in a clip from November 2018 – when she was 16 and he was 22.

“Hey, Q,” she says as the pair hug backstage at one of her concerts at Los Angeles’ The Fonda Theatre. “You look good as hell.”

She and Brandon – who performs under the stage name 7:AMP – are then seen holding hands while ice skating at her 17th birthday party.

“He’s so fine,” Billie says as she looks at a picture of herself and her beau on her phone, “Oh, my gosh.”

The documentary continues to chronicle the ups and downs of their former relationship, with Billie seen telling him: “I love you. I’m in love with you” at one point.

And when he admits to drunk driving just a few days later, the Bad Guy star says: “I don’t want you to do that. I feel like you don’t take me seriously when I say that. I just want you safe.”

The breaking point in their relationship came in April 2019, when Brandon travelled to Indio to support Billie at her first-ever Coachella performance but didn’t make time to see her afterwards.

Moments later, Billie confirms they split, explaining: “I just wasn’t happy, and I didn’t want the same things he wanted, and I don’t think that’s fair for him. I don’t think you should be in a relationship super excited about certain things that the other person couldn’t care less about. I don’t think that’s fair to you. I didn’t think that was fair to him.

“And there was just a lack of effort, I think. I literally was just like, ‘Dude, you don’t even have enough love to love yourself. You can’t love me, dude. And you don’t. You think you do.’

“I don’t want to fix him. I can’t fix him. I’ve tried.”

Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry is streaming on Apple TV+ now.

Lady Gaga’s dogs returned by mystery woman – Music News

Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, have been returned hours after the pop star issued a plea, praying for “an act of kindness”.

ABC has reported that an unidentified woman with no known links to the thugs, who stole the pets during an attack on dog walker Ray Fischer, turned the dogs in to Los Angeles Police officials on Friday night.

The dogs were quickly reunited with Gaga’s team, while the singer remains out of the country, shooting a film in Italy.

The suspects, who shot Fischer during the dog-napping on Wednesday night, are still at large, and no arrests have been made.

Sources close to Gaga told TMZ she cried “tears of joy” when she heard Koji and Gustav were safe.

It’s currently unclear if and when the woman, who turned over the pets, will be rewarded. Gaga offered $500,000 (£359,000) – no questions asked – for the dogs’ return.

In a statement she released on Friday, Gaga hailed Fischer a hero.

“My beloved dogs Koji and Gustav were taken in Hollywood two nights ago,” she wrote, explaining: “my heart is sick and I am praying my family will be whole again with an act of kindness.”

“I will pay $500,000 for their safe return,” she offered. “Email [email protected] to contact us. Or, if you bought or found them unknowingly, the reward is the same. I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero,” she praised.

Fischer was hospitalised after the attack but is expected to make a full recovery.
