Sharon Osbourne: ‘Marilyn Manson always treated me with respect’ – Music News

Sharon Osbourne has fired back at trolls who have called her out for working with alleged sex abuser Marilyn Manson.

The shock rocker’s former fiancee, Evan Rachel Wood, sparked a deluge of claims about Manson earlier this week when she identified him as her abuser, insisting he groomed her for sex acts when she was a teenager.

Several other women have also come forward with damning accusations, which have cost Manson a record label deal and two TV acting roles, and former collaborators Trent Reznor and Wes Borland have also taken aim at the Rock is Dead singer, who has denied the allegations against him.

But Osbourne, who has worked with the embattled star in the past, has taken the high road, insisting she has no idea what goes on in Manson’s private life, and during a segment on her daytime U.S. show The Talk, Sharon took on those who have posted images of her and Manson online, insisting she should speak out against him.

“I’ve known Marilyn for 25 years… and obviously I would not know what goes on in his bedroom, neither do I want to, but as far as people who think going on all my social, calling me names and putting up pictures of Marilyn and I… You know, there’s something called a working relationship and that’s what I’ve had with Marilyn for many years,” Sharon said.

“I know nothing about his sexual preferences or the way he treats women. I know how he treats an older woman, which is me. And he’s always been respectful,” she added.

Manson was booked to hit the road with Sharon’s rocker husband, Ozzy, on his cancelled 2020 tour.

Meanwhile, shortly after Osbourne spoke out on Friday, Manson’s longtime manager Tony Ciulla, who started working with him in 1996, cut ties with the rocker.

Lil Yachty developing heist movie inspired by Uno card game – Music News

Rapper Lil Yachty is in talks to lead the cast of a new heist movie inspired by Mattel’s Uno card game.

The Grammy-nominated rapper is producing the action heist comedy, which will be set in the underground hip-hop world of Atlanta, Georgia, with Mattel Films, and he is also being eyed for the lead role.

“I’m so excited to be part of this film with Mattel,” said Lil Yachty in a statement. “I played Uno as a kid and still do today, so to spin that into a movie based on the Atlanta hip hop scene I came out of is really special. It hits close to home for me.”

Executive producer Robbie Brenner and supervising producer Kevin McKeon will lead the project for Mattel Films, while Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Pierre “P” Thomas from Lil Yachty’s record label Quality Control Music and Brian Sher will produce for Quality Films. Marcy Kelly has written the script.

“At Mattel Films, we are looking to explore stories that bring our brands to life in unexpected ways,” added Brenner. “Uno is a game that transcends generations and cultures and we look forward to partnering with Lil Yachty, as well as with Coach, P, and Brian Sher, to transform the classic Uno game into a comedic action adventure.”

The 23-year-old, real name Miles Parks McCollum, has previously appeared in the movies Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve and Long Shot, had a voice role in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, and had his first lead role in the 2019 stoner comedy TV film How High 2.

Uno was created in a barbershop in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1971 and is now available in more than 80 countries. The heist movie joins other Mattel Films projects in the works such as features inspired by Barbie, Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe, Thomas & Friends, and more.

Olivia Rodrigo’s Drivers License speeds into a fourth week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.

Continuing its strong performance, the track claims 69,000 chart sales this week, including 8.3 million streams. Drivers License finishes with more than double the chart sales of its closest competition, Nathan Evans’ Wellerman remix ft. 220 Kid and Billen Ted, which climbs one place to Number 2 and claims the most digital downloads of the week.

At Number 3, Fredo’s Money Talks ft. Dave is this week’s highest new entry following the release of his second studio album Money Can’t Buy Happiness. This isn’t the pair’s first collaboration – in 2018 they scooped a Number 1 debut with their collaboration Funky Friday in a landmark moment for British rap, as well as a Top 20 hit in 2019 with All I Ever Wanted.

Fredo claims two further new Top 40 entries with Burner On Deck ft. Pop Smoke & Young Adz (18) and Ready ft. Summer Walker (21).

Irish producer Shane Codd rebounds three places back into the Top 10 with Get Out My Head (8), while Tiesto’s The Business (11) and Doja Cat’s Streets (12) reach brand new peaks.

Further down, Friday by Riton & Nightcrawlers ft. Mufasa & Hypeman flies 13 places to Number 24, while The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears rises three to Number 31 ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance this Sunday. Glass Animals are up four with Heatwaves at Number 34, and Regardless by Raye & Rudimental rises three to a new peak of 37.

Finally, Jax Jones’ I Miss U ft. Au/Ra jumps five places to return to the Top 40 at Number 39.

Celeste’s ‘Not Your Muse’ becomes first British female Number 1 debut album in five years – Music News

Congratulations to Celeste, who enters straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with her debut album Not Your Muse.

Not Your Muse fights off competition from three other big new releases to claim this week’s top spot, making her the first British female artist to top the chart with their debut album in just over five years, since Jess Glynne’s I Cry When I Laugh in November 2015.

Celebrating the news, Celeste told OfficialCharts.com:

“I just want to thank everyone that made this possible and bought and streamed my album. It means so much to me and it means a lot for this music to get heard in this way. London rapper Fredo is new at Number 2 with his second album Money Can’t Buy Happiness, claiming the UK’s most-streamed album of the week. Newcomer Arlo Parks also makes a strong debut with her first album Collapsed In Sunbeams at Number 3 – this week’s best-selling album in UK independent record shops.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, British musician Steven Wilson enters at Number 4 with The Future Bites, his second Top 10 collection, and Chip’s new mixtape Snakes & Ladders lands at Number 7 – the rapper’s highest-charting headline album since his 2009 debut I Am Chipmunk peaked at Number 2 (last year’s collaborative project Insomnia with Skepta and Young Adz topped out at Number 3).

Sales of Captain Sir Tom Moore’s You’ll Never Walk Alone surge 1864% in the week of his passing

Following Captain Sir Tom Moore’s passing this week aged 100, sales and streams of his Number 1 single You’ll Never Walk Alone have surged 1864% as the public pays tribute to the war veteran and one-man fundraising machine.

His rendition of the song, made famous by Gerry and the Pacemakers in 1963, was recorded with Michael Ball and the NHS Voices Of Care Choir and debuted at Number 1 last April. Proceeds from the single go to NHS Charities Together, for which he raised more than £33 million for by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday during the first UK lockdown.

Sharon Osbourne: ‘Lily Cornell Silver’s mental health podcast is vital’ – Music News

Sharon Osbourne has applauded podcast host Lily Cornell Silver for tackling mental health issues on her hit show Mind Wide Open.

The daughter of late rocker Chris Cornell spoke to Sharon’s son, Jack Osbourne, for the latest episode, where he opened up about his struggles with overnight fame when reality show The Osbournes took off.

Sharon has praised Lily for shedding light on health issues that are often ignored or dismissed.

“I’m so proud of Lily and I just love her idea of bringing attention to the subject of mental health with Mind Wide Open,” Sharon said. “This issue is so prevalent with all generations and more than ever there’s a real need for more forums like this for people to speak up and have meaningful discussions about mental health.”

Jack spoke candidly during his time on Mind Wide Open, admitting appearing on The Osbournes drove him to rehab as he developed a “healthy Oxycontin habit”, and also revealing he had battled depression before the MTV series began.

“Once the show kicked off, I kind of fell into drugs and alcohol. And it was pretty aggressive… I ended up in rehab at 17,” he said. “I’ve been sober ever since, but it took a lot of self-work to kind of try and knock back a three-year experience.”

Mind Wide Open will continue as an IGTV series with new shows every other Tuesday, beginning at 12pm ET. The show is also available as a podcast on Spotify and Apple and on YouTube with subtitles available in Spanish and English.
