Jessie Ware: Fans need to be ‘up close and personal’ for her ‘sexy dance record’ – Music News

Jessie Ware needs fans to be “up close and personal” at her live shows to fully immerse themselves in her “sexy dance record”.

The ‘Spotlight’ singer was forced to reschedule her tour in support of her acclaimed album, ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’, to December, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and she has insisted the disco songs require people to dance freely and be intimate, which is not possible with the current social-distancing measures in place to help slow the spread of the infectious virus.

Speaking on Friday’s (05.02.21) episode of ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Jessie said of her tour: “It’s moved to December which is sensible and realistic, and the album is a sexy dance record – people need to be up close and personal.”

The 36-year-old star, who has today (05.02.21) released the track ‘Remember Where You Are’ as a single, previously revealed how she plans to perform the album during gigs.

She said: “I think the beauty of this particular record is that I can essentially play with a DJ and backing singers if I want, or I could make it a full band. There’s a big scope of how I can do it.

“That was the thing that was frustrating with the setup of the last record – I was having to say no to shows cos I couldn’t afford to do it. I like the freeness of this, it’s malleable, being able to perform this live – whether that’s over the internet for you guys with a backing track.

“I think it’ll be an interesting task that I’m very willing to undertake, how to integrate the slow moments of my other records and music that people have enjoyed of mine before.

“I think it’ll be an exciting task but I think it’ll have to be a moment within the show.”

‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One from 10.45pm and is also available on BBC iPlayer.

Foo Fighters were ‘creeped out’ at the ‘haunted’ house were they recorded ‘Medicine at Midnight’ – Music News

Foo Fighters were “creeped out” at the “haunted” house they recorded ‘Medicine at Midnight’ at.

Dave Grohl and co won’t be rushing back to the 1940s mansion in Los Angeles – which he had rented and lived at a decade ago, before returning there to work on their latest album – anytime soon, after they were left spooked by what they believe to be ghosts, with the ‘Walking After You’ rocker claiming to have heard unexplained footsteps and felt a presence next to him.

The 52-year-old frontman told USA Today: “So there was a house down the street from where I live that I actually rented about 10 years ago. It was an old house built in the ’40s, I believe – just the quintessential creepy house. The person that owns the place told me stories like, ‘Oh, Joe Cocker used to party here with the guy that played Grizzly Adams.

When I lived there, I didn’t consider it to be a spooky house. My kids did. My daughter, Harper, would see things and other people in her room at night, but she was three years old at the time. I mean, I did the same thing. But when we came back to record this (album), everybody felt creeped out and you could go one of two ways: You could run screaming out the front door with your tail between your legs or you could put your head down and make nine songs and then get the f*** out of there. That’s basically what we did.”

Asked if he saw any ghosts, he said: “I’ve never been that paranormal experience television show type person. I’ve never wandered around my basement with infrared goggles looking for heat sensors. The worst part is just feeling it. It’s not like you’re seeing floating bedsheets and vomiting pea soup – it’s like you feel somebody next to you or hear footsteps or have reoccurring dreams of an old woman in a muddy sweater barefoot in your living room. Things like that. “

And quizzed on whether it influenced the songs on their first-ever party record, he insisted: “I don’t think it’s a spooky record – I think it’s a party record. Maybe whatever was in that house influenced us to make our first boogie-rock production. So hallelujah! Whatever the f*** it was, it worked.”

The Weeknd to perform Super Bowl half-time show from stadium stands – Music News

The Weeknd will reportedly perform in the stands during his half-time show at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Performers traditionally take over the centre of the field after the first half of the big NFL game, but health and safety restrictions have apparently driven the Blinding Lights singer to the terraces at the Raymond James stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida.

A source tells Page Six the show will be “phenomenal, different and historic”, put together by a fraction of the people usually employed to set up and take down a stage in record time.

“It’s a total of 1,000 people, and they can’t touch the field,” an insider says. “How do you pull off a show that’s not on the field and is as impactful as it’s ever been with same level of entertainment? Wait till you see it, it’s beautifully done.”

Another source tells the outlet that staging a virtual show from another stadium was ruled out almost as soon as The Weeknd signed on to perform.

“The whole idea of Super Bowl half-time is that you’re able to experience that,” the insider adds, “The NFL (National Football League) didn’t want the fans in attendance not to have that experience. The easy way out is to have it somewhere else, but it is part of the overall Super Bowl.”

Super Bowl executive producer Jesse Collins previously told Entertainment Tonight, “We’re gonna use the stadium to present the half-time show in a way that it’s never been presented before… Instead of focusing on what we can’t do (due to the pandemic), it’s like, ‘Look at what the opportunities are because of the cards we’ve been dealt’.”

Miranda Lambert cuts road trip short after terrifying hit-and-run incident – Music News

Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan Mcloughlin were forced to cut their road trip short after becoming the victims of a hit-and-run.

The Bluebird star, who had been travelling in an Airstream caravan with Brendan for the past few days, took to Instagram on Thursday to tell fans they’d had a narrow escape when they were driving home through Atlanta when an “a*s hole in a small car with temp plates was driving erratically and tried to squeeze between us and an semi truck going 70 on I-20 W”.

“It hit the airstream on the passenger side and sent us into the left lane,” she continued. “We fishtailed pretty good but got on the shoulder as quickly as possible to assess the damage. Nobody was hurt thank the good Lord. But nobody stopped either and the car sped away. (Cool Bro) We are so thankful that nothing worse happened. Our vehicle and trailer were driveable so we made a report and hauled home.”

Miranda added that after the incident, she called her mother and thanked her for her prayers – “cause I know she prays for us every morning about 4.30am”.

“Thanks to @airstream_inc and @southland_rv, we are gonna be repaired and back to our vagabond ways soon,” she concluded, revealing that she and Brendan are now back in their hometown of Nashville. “Anyway, overall it was an amazing trip and we learned we have a lot to see and a lot to be grateful for.”

Foo Fighters hope fans will be ‘singing every word’ when they can finally perform live again – Music News

The ‘Shame Shame’ hitmakers have just released their 10th album, ‘Medicine at Midnight’, which they originally planned to bring out last year as part of a “worldwide celebration” of their 25th anniversary, and though the coronavirus pandemic has meant they can’t support the record with a tour, frontman Dave Grohl is hopeful the delay will make the tracks even more special.

He said: “We imagined that our 25th anniversary tour and our tenth album would both come together in this worldwide celebration that we would carry around like a circus until the wheels fell off. So when everything stopped it was strange waiting.

“The excitement of finishing a record usually rolls over into the beginning of the tour and watching the whole thing grow. From the songs to the production and the full band’s performance. We take it step by step eventually winding up at the big festivals and in the stadiums.

“Seeing a song go from an idea written on a napkin to something that 60,000 people sing along to is a wild ride and it happens over time. So this is a broken process.

“But I had this idea that we should release the album sooner than later so that by the time we do hit the stage, people will be familiar with all of the new songs.

“A lot of the times when you come out with a new record, you start playing the new songs live and people aren’t entirely familiar with them so they have to grow in your ear and your heart. Now, by the time we hit the stage, people will be singing every word because they’ll have time to get to know it.”

The ‘Times Like These’ hitmakers were forced to spend eight months apart because of the global health crisis, but as soon as they got back into the same room, it was like they’d never been apart.

Dave told The Sun newspaper: ““It felt like a dream. We all walked into the room, one by one and saw each other for the first time in almost a year. No instruments or amplifiers. We just sat in the room together.

“It was a reunion of old friends who rely on each other for a lot more than just playing music. It was f***ing beautiful. Then we put on our instruments, looked at each other and played ‘Learn To Fly’ and it sounded exactly the same as the last time we played it a year before.

“At the end we looked at each other and laughed. Hopefully we’ll be able to do that for the rest of our lives.”
