Rag’n’Bone Man ‘lived’ with new album songs before getting into the studio – Music News

Rag’n’Bone Man had time to “live” with the songs on his new album Life By Misadventure before recording them.

The Giant hitmaker is back after three years with his new single, All You Ever Wanted, taken from his upcoming follow-up to his acclaimed 2017 LP Human.

The album was recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo, and the singer – real name Rory Graham – said in a press release that having some time between writing the songs and recording them enabled him to hone in on the raw emotion of the lyrics.

“We had quite a time to live with the songs this time around,” he explained.

“Too often, how I’d done things before, was that we’d written a song and I had to sing it the same day, and that was the version we’d use on the album. This way, it was far easier to get real emotion into the music.”

The artist added that the album’s lead single was inspired by his English homeland.

“I’d felt sad looking around Brighton and London where I grew up…remembering all those cool places that aren’t there anymore,” he shared.

Life By Misadventure is released on 23 April. All You Ever Wanted is out now.

Iggy Azalea feels like having a ‘moderate h** phase’ – Music News

The 30-year-old rap star has revealed her new ambition via Twitter, suggesting she will “buy a crystal or something” to help achieve her goal.

The blonde beauty – who is well-known for her explicit lyrics and raunchy music videos – wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “I feel like having a moderate h** phase with a dash of spirituality.

“I think I need to throw a lil a** and go buy a crystal or something. (sic)”

Iggy subsequently retweeted a reply from one of her followers.

The post simply read: “This is so inspirational (sic)”

No One Was Hurt In The Making Of The ‘SNL’ Closing Credits

MGK (Photo: DFree / Shutterstock)

INTERSCOPE artist MACHINE GUN KELLY’s first “SATURDAY Night Live” appearance started with him sweeping girlfriend MEGAN FOX off her feet and carrying her into 30 ROCKEFELLER PLAZA for the performance of “SNL” this past SATURDAY (1/3O) — check it out here

MGK rocked the house with a performances of “My Ex’s Best Friend,” and in his second performance, he slowed it down for the song “Lonely,” a song about his father, who died last JULY.

And for the closing, MGK clowned with his bud, “SNL” cast member Pete Davidson, as he squatted down to pick up DAVIDSON and pulled him over his shoulder, sending both of them into an unrehearsed tumble off the stage. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Arlo Parks wishes people didn’t know her real name – Music News

The 20-year-old singer was born Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho and she admitted she wanted to keep her career “separate” to her everyday life – but online resource Wikipedia meant her real moniker quickly became public knowledge.

She said: “I did have that desire to keep things separate at first, but then Wikipedia.”

Asked if she’d rather her name wasn’t available, she said: “I think in a way, yeah, because I’m already putting so much of myself into my songs and so much of my life and my story. I definitely have that desire to kind of filter some detail.”

Check out our Music News exclusive interview below:

The ‘Black Dog’ singer started writing music as a private unweaning of all the “difficult, complicated knots in my head” but she won’t share songs that feel too personal.

She said: “I definitely have spoken to people who feel the need to mine those difficult parts of themselves to create something that’s worth thinking about, but I don’t think that is something that anybody needs to do, or should feel obliged to.

“I think the reason why I do it is because that’s what inspires me most. I’m most inspired by memory, and by the things that I’ve lived.

“If something hurts, I don’t [share it].

“I’m blessed that people do find my work kind of useful in a way, but I think that it’s important not to destroy yourself for the sake of being useful.”

However, Arlo admitted people have an “expectation” for her to seem vulnerable.

She said: “I definitely think that there is an expectation, but because that’s the way that I project myself as well. And that’s what I think people think I am all the time.”

In the early days of her career, Arlo would respond to fans seeking advice about their worries and secrets but admitted the letters took their toll on her own mood.

She added to Britain’s The Telegraph newspaper: “I found it quite draining, and I found myself quite low. So, I think it was important to set that balance again.”
