Frank Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993) was a highly influential and iconoclastic singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, film-maker, bandleader, and satirist who became famous beginning in the early 1970s. His best known songs include the comedic “Valley Girl” (1982) featuring Zappa’s daughter, Moon Unit, that inspired the 1983 movie of the same name.
