Kacey Musgraves shares photo of gallbladder to mark one-year anniversary of its removal – Music News

Kacey Musgraves quietly underwent surgery to remove her gallbladder last year.

The Space Cowboy singer went public with her health issue in a Twitter post early on Thursday, as she tried to kickstart a social media trend, calling on her followers to share the “weirdest” photo on their phones.

Kacey revealed she had been hospitalised 12 months ago as she posted her own graphic snap, which featured her organ laying on a piece of fabric, although she offered up no other details.

“Weirdest pic in ur phone right now: go!” she wrote. “Ok since no one asked mine is of the s**tty gallbladder that had to be taken out of my body exactly a year ago. Isn’t science neat (sic)”.

Kacey had a tough 2020, as in addition to her operation, she also split from her husband Ruston Kelly, with them filing for divorce in July.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, she explained that their marriage “just simply didn’t work out.”

“It’s nothing more than that. It’s two people who love each other so much, but for so many reasons, it just didn’t work,” she explained. “I mean, seasons change. Our season changed.”

Yungblud’s cover of ‘Life on Mars?’ played during NASA’s landing on the Red Planet – Music News

Yungblud’s cover of David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars?’ was played during NASA’s landing of the Perseverance rover on the Red Planet.

The spacecraft was sent to Mars on Thursday (18.02.21) along with a tiny helicopter to find out if there really is life on Mars.

And the space-obsessed ‘mars’ hitmaker couldn’t believe it when he found out his rendition of the late music icon’s 1971 hit – which he performed with Bowie’s longtime keyboard player, Mike Garson, at the virtual ‘A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day’ tribute concert in January – was going to soundtrack the historical landing.

During an appearance on BBC’s ‘The One Show’, Yungblud – whose real name is Dom Harrison – shared how he thought his manager was quitting his job to become an astronaut when he told his client NASA had been on the phone to him.

The 23-year-old star said: “First of all, I am as ready as a rabbit on Easter. I love space so I am here for it. I remember my 23-year-old manager rings me on the phone. It was late cos he’s in LA and it must have been midnight cos I’d had a couple of beers, so I was already kind of out there.

“He’s like, ‘Yo, I just got off the phone with NASA’. I’m like, ‘Alright, yeah cool, what’s it about? You leaving me to go be an astronaut?’

“He said, ‘No you idiot, it’s about you! If the Mars rover lands successfully, they’re gonna play your cover of your favourite artist of all time, David Bowie, alongside it. I’m just like, ‘Nah man’, that just sounds like someone is just completely off their head telling you a mad story.

“It’s completely unfathomable. Someone needs to slap me so I’ll wake up.”

The ‘weird!’ rocker had admitted it was like being on a different planet with the ‘Space Oddity’ singer – who passed away from cancer in 2016 – when he performed the cover.

He told fans on Instagram after the gig: “Doing that Bowie concert last night was one of the best f****** experiences in me life. I think it’s really rare when you kind of feel your f****** idols and someone you have literally based everything and your whole existence around. I felt like I met him somehow last night and it was the best night of my life. It felt like I was on a different planet and he was f****** there with me. I know it sounds mental as f***. I will post it later today. I can’t wait for you all to see it, I sang ‘Life on Mars?’ and it was mental.”

Nipsey Hussle had two more albums in the works before his death – Music News

The ‘Double Up’ hitmaker – who was fatally shot in March 2019 aged 33 – had a long-term career “mission” in mind after releasing his sole studio album ‘Victory Lap’, and spent an hour discussing his plans with Dead Prez member Stic.Man.

Speaking on the ‘Juan Ep Is Dead’ podcast, Stic.Man said: “I had a conversation with Nipsey Hussle before he passed.

“…We had an hour-long conversation about what he had been trying to do up to that point as an independent, and how he wanted his situation to be with Atlantic. He had made it to some certain personal goals he had. What he wanted to talk to me about was his three-album mission.”

According to Stic.Man, the trio of albums began with ‘Victory Lap’, then there would have been a second record, and Nipsey planned to complete his contract with Atlantic Records with a final LP titled ‘The Spook Who Sat By The Door’, in honour of Sam Greenlee’s 1969 novel of the same dame.

Nipsey had called Stic.Man because he was seeking permission to “redo” Dead Prez’s 2000 debut album ‘Let’s Get Free’.

He recalled: “He told me he wanted to redo ‘Let’s Get Free’, and wanted our permission.

“He really wanted our permission to sample, and really redo it for what he called his generation. And all the admiration he had for that record, we just had a heart-to-heart back and forth. Obviously, we didn’t get to go there, but I want to speak to the heart Nip had.”

Earlier this month, Nipsey’s collaboration with Jay-Z, titled ‘What It Feels Like’, was released as part of the soundtrack for new movie ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’.

Bella Thorne denies latest song is about ex Tana Mongeau – Music News

Actress and singer Bella Thorne has shot down speculation suggesting her latest song is a dig at her ex-girlfriend Tana Mongeau.

The Shake It Up star split from YouTube personality Mongeau in early 2019 after less than two years together, but the old relationship hit headlines on social media recently following the release of Bella’s track Stupid F**king B**ch.

She also cast a blonde who looked strikingly similar to her ex to co-star in the accompanying music video, as Bella sings lines like: “You wanted me for clout, and I should’ve thrown you out/But I never resist the way you bite your lower lip.”

She and Mongeau even traded barbs online after the promo dropped in December, indicating the track was all about their doomed romance, but Bella insisted that isn’t the case.

“It’s not (about Mongeau),” she told the New York Post’s Page Six, explaining: “the song is about people in your friend groups.”

She continued: “Everyone kind of goes through this, where a new person comes in and you’re all, like, ‘Yeah, f**k yeah, I love this guy, he’s got great energy…’ and then that person slowly takes over your whole group, gets in there and things start to happen.”

She reflected: “You realise, maybe they’re not just friends with you because they’re being friends with you, maybe it’s these ulterior motives.”

Bella went on to insist Stupid F**king B**ch isn’t about any one particular person: “I just thought the hook is super catchy with ‘stupid f**king b**ch,’ so therefore it sounds like it’s about a female but it’s not really just about a female, it’s about this perspective of people that everyone can really relate to,” she said, before admitting writing about female relationships is “so intriguing”.

“Whether you’re writing about dating them or f**king them or talking to them or just in general having a conversation with another woman, it’s so interesting,” Bella shared.

Dave Grohl named first pet after the Bee Gees – Music News

Dave Grohl was such a big fan of the Bee Gees growing up, he named his first pet after the band of brothers.

The Foo Fighters recently performed a cover of the trio’s You Should Be Dancing for British radio host Jo Wiley’s Sofa Session show and the frontman revealed the song was a full-circle moment for him, taking him back to vacations with his relatives in Miami, Florida.

“My cousins lived in Miami and so when we went to visit them in 1979 (it was at) the height of the Bee Gees disco craze (there),” the rocker explained.

“They lived pretty close to where the Bee Gees lived,” he went on.

Grohl and his cousins would drive all over the city hoping to glimpse their heroes, and he ended up taking a special memory home with him.

“While we were visiting our cousins their dog had puppies and we wound up taking one of the puppies home… and we named it Bee Gee… Who’s not a Bee Gees fan?” he asked.

Grohl admitted he found it really easy to hit the band’s famous high notes as the Foo Fighters rehearsed You Should Be Dancing.

“I have never, ever, in my life sung like that but it was the easiest song I have ever sung,” he said.

“I didn’t realise that my voice (could do that)… I sing the song in, like, six minutes and I was done. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I should have been singing like that for the last 25 years’,” he reflected.

Now, Grohl hopes his cover will land him a meeting with existing Bee Gee Barry Gibb: “I’ve not met Barry… We’re in the same universe but we never met.”

Police looking into Marilyn Manson abuse allegations – Music News

Authorities in Los Angeles are planning to meet with at least one of Marilyn Manson’s abuse accusers to determine if there are grounds for a criminal investigation.

The shock rocker’s career has taken a nosedive since his ex-fiancee, Evan Rachel Wood, named the musician as her abuser in a candid Instagram post in early February, and a string of other women, including Game of Thrones actress Esme Bianco, have since also come forward with their own troubling experiences with Manson.

The Rock is Dead singer, real name Brian Warner, has hit back at the accusations, branding them “horrible distortions of reality”.

“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth,” he posted to social media.

However, the controversy has cost him his recording contract, and his talent agency representation, as well as two acting gigs.

According to TMZ, it has now been revealed FBI agents have examined the complaints made against the 52-year-old, and have brought in local law enforcement from Los Angeles.

Officers from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department have since reached out to at least one alleged victim to discuss her claims as part of an initial probe, although the woman’s identity has not been made public.
