Paul Young (b. January 17, 1956) is a veteran English singer, songwriter, guitarist, and former teen idol who became famous during the 1980s. He is best known in the U.S. for “Everytime You Go Away” (1985), which topped the charts, as well as his covers of such Motown classics as Marvin Gaye’s “Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)” (1983) and Jimmy Ruffin’s “What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted” (1992).
